The Federal Member for Franklin, Julie Collins was pleased to announce that the Woodbridge Hall will receive $10,672 to help upgrade kitchen facilities at the historic community hall.

Ms Collins recommended the Woodbridge Hall, which is owned by the Kingborough Council, receive funding for this upgrade during the fourth round of the Stronger Communities Programme.
On a recent visit to the Hall, Ms Collins heard how the refurbished kitchen will help benefit the community.
“I’m pleased to have been able to work with the Woodbridge Hall Management Committee to ensure this project received funding so the local community can enjoy the benefits of the upgraded kitchen,” said Ms Collins.
“I know the historic hall has been a central part of community since its construction in 1890 and I’m excited that with this upgrade this will continue.”
The current kitchen is outdated and inefficient.
The new funding will help refurbish the current kitchen to develop it into a useful, safe and modern facility.
This includes upgrading equipment; plumbing and electricals in the kitchen; and purchasing various kitchen items.
It is anticipated these upgrades will make the hiring of the facility far more attractive to organisations and individuals in the community.
Ms Collins said that the grant funding would make a real difference for the local community.
“Community groups rely on venues like the Woodbridge Hall to hold and plan events that make a positive contribution to the community,” said Ms Collins.
“I look forward to seeing the upgrade finished and the Woodbridge Hall continuing to benefit members of the local community.
I congratulate the Woodbridge Hall Management Committee on the work they have done to attract funding for this fantastic project.”
