After winning The Bowls Tasmania South Pennant Grand Final Kingborough’s Premier Division team travelled to Penguin Bowls Club to play in The Bowls Tasmania Premier Division State Pennant Championships.

Competition was played over Saturday and Sunday, April 6 and 7, and Kingborough showed that they were the best team in Tasmania after winning the title in style.
On Saturday Kingborough played Ulverston and took control early, before Ulverstone fought back strongly to salvage a draw.
Will Coad defeated Eden Moore by eight shots.
Ulverstone won on the other two rinks with Collin Willcox scoring six shots on the final three ends to defeat Jason Fowler by six shots, and Sam McLean came from seven shots down to win the final six ends to beat Jarod Long by two shots.
The draw meant that Ulverstone were eliminated from the competition having lost their earlier game to East Launceston.
Kingborough’s draw saw them play East Launceston on Sunday and had to win the game to become state champions.
Kingborough came out in great style setting up a 17-shot lead after nine ends, winning by an outstanding 35 shots.
Will Coad continued his good form defeating Sam Springer by 19 shots, and Jarod Long beat Will Springer by 17 shots.
Aaron Page scored a rink win for East Launceston defeating Jason Fowler by one shot.
The off-season winter bowls competition in the Donald Hazell Indoor Centre at the Kingborough Bowls and Community Club commenced on Tuesday, April 8.
Bowlers from many clubs gathered for the game, however, a slight registration mix up led to one team not being available and as a result, Team Barlow was given a forfeit.
Other winners were Hynes by 12, Cowen by three, Cawthorn by five, Newbold by nine, Rainbird by nine, Chaffey by 10 and Oates by five.
