Tigers pull together for historic win

Kingborough Tigers FC made history on Saturday, with the club registering its first seniors win over North Launceston since joining the competition in 2014. 
The Tigers’ Seniors had the task in front of them with North Launceston up near the top of the ladder and the Tigers at 5th however the Tigers toppled the reigning premiers by 18 points, to notch the team’s fifth win for the season. 
This was the first time the Tigers had defeated a team above them in 2019, with Trent Baumeler’s side now entrenched in the top five and on the way to a maiden finals berth.
The Tigers played a hard, consistent game not letting the visitors get a hold on the game and winning each quarter.
Kieran Lovell was prolific for the Tigers with a best-on-ground performance, while Elijah Reardon and Tyler Carter were dangerous inside 50.
The likes of Jarryd Drew and Will Poland also continued their strong defensive form in an even team performance. 
The final score was 9.10.64 to 6.10.46.
Goal scorers for the Tigers were Elijah Reardon (3), Tyler Carter (2), Lachie Clifford, Luke Graham, Kieran Lovell and Beau Adams.
Best players were Kieran Lovell, Jarryd Drew, Will Poland, Beau Adams, Tyler Carter and Sam Rice.
The Tigers U/18’s lost to North Launceston 4.7.31 to 9.7.61.
In the Mercury Cup, the Tigers were 3rd on the ladder and North Launceston top.
In a very one-sided game the Tigers shot out to a good lead early on with the final score being 14.9.93 to 4.8.32.
Cooper Sawdy took his trademark grabs and kicked 4 goals.
Best players were Patrick Kelly, Zac Adams, Aidan Webster, Jackson Keogh and Jacob Banks-Balding.
