Kingborough Council approved stage one of the residential development at Kingston Park on Monday, November 11.

Mayor of Kingborough Cr Dean Winter is enthusiastic about the opportunities this will provide for the community as work gets underway.

“We are very excited to announce that the first stage of the residential development on Kingston Park has been approved.
“This residential development is already attracting significant interest and will provide jobs and
economic growth for Kingborough.

“It also adds much needed housing supply and options for people in greater Hobart,” Mayor Winter said.
The approval was passed by majority at the most recent council meeting and is expected to provide 67, three and four-bedroom townhouses.

Traders In Purple’s Development Director for Tasmania, Ms Jennifer Cooper said that she welcomed
Kingborough Council’s approval for stage one of the $300 million Kingston Park project, which will be
known as Kings Quarter when it is established.
“We anticipate commencing sales at Kings Quarter early in the new year and breaking ground in
mid 2020,” Ms Cooper said.

Traders In Purple has appointed Knight Frank and Harcourts as its sales agents for Kings Quarter.

The company will also open a Traders in Purple sales and information office, complete with a café in the Kingborough Community Hub.

Planning for other elements of the 8-10 year Kings Quarter development is also under way.

When finished, there will be a mix of around 300 residences, complimentary retail outlets and commercial office space, as well as extensive recreational and lifestyle facilities.
Ms Cooper believes this approach by Traders In Purple and Kingborough Council is planning for the future needs of the community and a new lifestyle opportunity.

“The mix of different residential options, open spaces, recreational facilities and employment opportunities, all in one location, is designed to create better work-lifestyle outcomes for everyone,” Ms Cooper said.
“Less travel for work, more time with family and open spaces for residents and employees to enjoy, makes for stronger, more vibrant communities.
“Traders In Purple is particularly proud of its attention to the natural environment, as well as the built environment at Kings Quarter.

“Stage one alone will include planting more than 150 native and ornamental trees to augment the extensive open spaces located in and around phase one of the development,” Ms Cooper said.
