Pharmacy Manager Aimee de la Bere from Priceline Channel Court has been awarded the Pharmacist of the Year award for the Vic/Tas region, making her one of five candidates that will now be considered for the Australian Pharmacist of the Year.

Along with the other five state level awardees, Ms de la Bere will be giving a presentation in March on the store operations, services and her role within the pharmacy which will help determine the national award winner.

This will also be an opportunity for networking with the other Pharmacist of the Year candidates so that they can learn from each other and undertake additional training.

In conjunction with Ms de la Bere, Priceline Channel Court has been awarded the Store of the Year for Vic/Tas and will also be considered at a national level when the annual Priceline conference takes place in June.

Ms de la Bere has been working at the pharmacy for the last six years and stated that the people are what keep the job interesting for her.

“It was definitely the people aspect and the health care that got me into pharmacy,” said Ms de la Bere.

“I really enjoy having the regular custom base, helping them and the follow up with them.”

Ms de la Bere also enjoys the variety that working in the pharmacy offers as extra health services become a more common part of the store operations.

“Doing in pharmacy medication reviews and doing health checks with customers can help get them into preventative routines is a particular area of interest.

“We’ve got such a broad customer base from the elderly through to young families and I enjoy having both ends of the spectrum of customer health needs.

“We’ve also got a really good team at the moment and we work well together,” said Ms de la Bere.

According to Ms de la Bere, Retail Manager Ashtyn Laycock and Regional Manager Mikhaela Llewellyn it has been a team effort and a ‘customer-centric’ focus that have earned the team the Store of the Year award.

Priceline Channel Court want to thank their loyal customers, the staff and owner of the store for being part of the success and helping meet the criteria for the store to be nominated.

As well as the instore factors that help contribute to the nomination such as customer engagement and attitude, there are also external aspects that are considered such as the store’s annual Sisterhood quiz night and free community health initiatives such as the recent child revive night, women’s health checks and the medication checks that are offered at the store.
