Community interest for multi-use trail

Council recently commissioned a feasibility study for a multi-use trail along the North West Bay River and is now seeking feedback from members of the community on the proposed project.
“I was pleased to support the recommendation to release the feasibility study for
consultation,” said Cr Gideon Cordover.
“I encourage everyone to read it for themselves and have their say.
“That way, we can use the very best information to guide our next steps as we progress this exciting project.”
Council invites the community to share any concerns or issues that may not have been considered in the study, along with any suggestions they might have to address the concerns they are raising.
Cr Cordover said he was looking forward to listening to all the ideas and suggestions from community members and how they would use the trail.
“I hope we can create something special for everyone to enjoy,” Cr Cordover said.
“By listening to the community and sharing their stories, we can plan a multi-use trail along the banks of the North West Bay River from Longley to Margate that will be a positive legacy to pass onto our kids and grandkids.”
There is no current funding for this project, however Kingborough Council will continue to explore any State and Federal grants that may be able to offer support for the project in future.
Community members can read the report and have their say on the online engagement forum at https://oursay.org/kingborough-council/nwbr-trail

The Our Say platform is a secure online engagement portal that shares demographic details for engagement reports.

Personal details from registered users are not provided to Kingborough Council.
