Ivy Stafford, aged 3, from Kingston has shown her generous spirit by completing her own fundraiser to help Bonorong Wildlife Park as they take care of Tasmanian devils.
Ivy’s mother Emma Stafford said the young girl’s interest was piqued after visiting the animal sanctuary.
“After a visit to Bonorong Park, my 3-year-old daughter Ivy became very interested in Tassie devils and them being ‘sick’ after learning about the facial tumor from the guide there,” Ms Stafford explained.
“When we got home, she continued her interest, reading a book she bought and said that she wanted to help the devils.
“She asked about doing jobs around the house to get money and then said she wanted to give it all to the devils, which we were blown away by.
“We had a special spot container where she started to put the money and everyday she would get excited to be able to help the Tassie devils.”
Ivy completed household chores and jobs to help the family such as packing up her toys, putting dirty washing in the basket and clearing the table to raise a total of $116, which was donated to Bonorong on Sunday, August 9 to assist staff in caring for the devils.
