Chester’s Patch held a harvest festival afternoon tea at the Brookfield Shed in Margate on Saturday, May 15, to celebrate the fruitful end of a productive second growing season in the garden.

Klasina Abetz-Visser of Chester’s Patch said attendees enjoyed the festivities, including a food stall of chutneys, pickles and fresh vegetables, with a wander around the around garden afterwards.

“The stall was open Saturday afternoon, Sunday afternoon and Tuesday 10-2pm, and raised over $550,” said Klasina.

“The cake was superb, from the Bush Bakery.

“Many thanks to all who participated.

“We had a lovely time.”

Federal Member for Franklin, Julie Collins MP officially opened a garden shed for which the organisation obtained via a grant.
