Children’s charity Tassie Mums received $1000 from the Lions Club of Kingborough to shop for essential items for children in need on September 3.

Tassie Mums volunteers filled two shopping trolleys with essential items from stores in Kingston, including new underwear, socks, wipes and nappy cream.
Tassie Mums said in the two hours it took to fill the trolley’s the charity received six requests to assist children in need.

The charity is currently supporting on average 90 to 100 children every month.

Tassie Mums works with organisations across the State to provide essential material aid.

The charity accepts good quality new and pre-loved clothing for babies and children, from birth to 12-years.
“No child should go without clean underwear and warm socks, these are essential items that play a part towards happy healthy kids,” said founder, Clair Harris.

“We are very grateful to the Lions Club of Kingborough for their generous donation and support, it has been a great opportunity to come together and support local children.”
