Kingborough and Huon’s para athletes

Young para athletes from Kingborough and Huon Valley recently competed in the 2023 Chemist Warehouse Track and Field Athletics in Brisbane.
The team of Alice Smillie, Alexander McKillop, coach Rosie Coleman, Izzy King, Chris Albert and Bec Mathers call themselves ‘The Motley Crew’.
Izzy King came a very credible 10th in the U20 multi-class 100m and won a bronze medal in the Open Frame Running Class. 
Alexander McKillop came fourth in the Open Men’s 100m, fourth in the Australian Tracks Championships and third in the Open 200m final. 
Alice Smillie competed in her first Australian Track and Field Para Championships.
Alice placed fourth in long jump, sixth in 400m, fifth in 200m and sixth in 100m. 
Chris Albert did not compete in the 2023 Chemist Warehouse Track and Field Athletics.
Instead, he competed in five open events: 100m, 200m, shotput, javelin and discus. 
Bec Mathers competed in discus, javelin and shot put.
