The Kingston Eat Local competition recently closed, with 13 lucky winners drawn out of thousands of entries.
Kingborough Mayor Paula Wriedt said the competition aimed to encourage more people to eat and shop at the local businesses along Channel Highway during the construction period.
“There were four major prize winners who received $550 worth of vouchers and nine winners who received $50 vouchers,” Cr Wriedt said.
“One of the major winners has donated their vouchers to Kingborough Helping Hands, which is a lovely gesture and I am sure very helpful to this wonderful volunteer group.
“It was great to see thousands of entries in the competition and hear from the winners how glad they were to support the businesses.”
