Each year the Edna Pennicott Soup and Sandwich is held at the Twin Ovals and is a major fundraiser for the Kingborough Helping Hands charity (KHH).
KHH is a local charity that provides, amongst its services, emergency food relief to those in need and grants to local schools for books and breakfast clubs.
The large crowd were entertained by ‘The Croon’ and there were raffles and auctions on the day as well as a large array of different soups, sandwiches and plates of desserts and slices.
KHH was supported by a huge number of sponsors who donated prizes as well as preparation for the day.
Edna said “the day is a great chance for the community to get together, enjoy wonderful entertainment and support those most in need”.
