Congratulations to Ricky Shaw from Kingston Locksmiths for winning the 2023 Kingborough Chronicle Footy Tipping competition with a total score of 144.
Ricky led for most of the season, with local MP Dean Young, Steve Westwood from Co-Op Toyota and Michael West from HFT Interiors all closing the gap quickly towards the end of the year and placing top four.
The competition was very tight in the middle of the ladder with MP Dean Winter and Brett Irvine from NewsXpress equally placing 5th.
Four tippers; Nadine Seabourne from Trilogy Hair, Joe Assi from Kingston Beach Takeaway, Mayor of Kingborough Paula Wriedt, and long-time tipper and previous winner, Fred Newton from Glendon Insurance Brokers equally placed 6th.
Jane Barker from Stella Hairdressing ended up at 7th place, Brett Woolley from Southern Mechanical and Brake Service at 8th, and the 2022 Footy Tipping winner, Shane Cross from Kingston Town Meats, placed 9th.
Rhyllon Sykes, the new owner of Merediths Orchard in Margate, rounded out the competition claiming 10th place.
The Kingborough Chronicle and The Salty Dog wish to thank all the tippers for the 2023 season and for the community getting behind the local competition.
