Community supports local business

Kingborough local Hudson Navarro has seen his small business book out for weeks in advance thanks to the power of social media.
His father José Navarro posted to the Kingston and Channel Residents Facebook group about his son moving his detailing business into a commercial space in Huntingfield.
The post received dozens of positive comments and hundreds of likes and José said that the phone has been ringing off the hook.
“What a whirlwind,” José said.
“The group posts usually gain 10-12 likes but to date, we have 477 likes and over 75 positive comments which clearly shows the power of community and the strength of the group.”
Hudson, who is 18 and has been running the business for 12 months, is now booked for the next four weeks, though he stresses he can fit in minor jobs as needed.
José said it was bittersweet to watch his son move into his first commercial premises but that the best part was he was getting his garage back.
