Kingston couple Claire and Kevin Goodall have taken over Duggan’s Tyre Centre, also known as Bridgestone Service Centre, in Huonville.
After 23 years of service Leon and Fran Duggan passed over the keys to Claire and Kevin on Friday, July 19.
“This is the first time we’re running our own business,” Claire said.
“We want to continue the legacy that the Duggans are well known for.”
Claire, Kevin and son Max come from a motorsports background, with 12-year-old Max an avid go-karter.
Max is keen to get some driving tips from local rally driver and now the Goodalls’ employee Bodie Reading.
“Cars are our way of life,” Claire explained.
“When we noticed Duggan’s Tyre Centre up for sale it made sense for us to inquire.
“We’ve been lucky enough to keep on the same staff.
“That was a big thing that convinced us, knowing we had a good team.”
The Duggans are confident that the Goodalls will uphold the high standards that the community has come to expect.
“Over the years we have met many, many people and we wish to thank all our customers from all over the Huon Valley,” said Fran.
“We are very much looking forward to slowing down somewhat and spending more time with our family, particularly our grandchildren, and hopefully more trips away in our caravan.”
Claire and Kevin expressed their appreciation for Leon and Fran’s trust and support as they take over the business.
The Duggans will remain on-site for about a month to ensure a smooth transition.
