A spring high tea fundraiser, the first of its kind to be held at Oak Tree Retirement Village Kingston, was hosted on Friday, October 4.
Village Manager Paul Vincent said the idea for the high tea fundraiser came “a bit at random”, inspired by a sudden urge for charity.
All proceeds from ticket sales and raffles went towards Kingborough Helping Hands (KHH), with approximately $2500 raised on the day.
“Edna Pennicott always gets a bit of a crowd,” Paul said of KHH’s founder.
The approximately 80 attendees turned up at the high tea in their best spring outfits to enjoy a range of delectable sandwiches, sweet treats and live music.
