Bruny community swim rebrand

The Bruny Wild Swimmers have a new name, date and format for their third annual community swim.
The Bruny Wild Swim Classic will be held on Saturday, February 8.
The location of the swim will not be announced until the day before.
“It’s the same logic that we use to pick our weekday swims,” Bruny Wild Swimmer Jonathan Ross explained.
“If swimming conditions aren’t great on one side of the island, it will be good on the other. “As a rule of thumb, if the wind is blowing easterly, the swim will be at Alonnah.
“If it’s blowing westerly, it will be at Adventure Bay.
“All are welcome to participate, no matter whether you are a gun swimmer or content just to wade along in the shallows.”
Registrations can be made on the Bruny Wild Swimmers website.
“It doesn’t matter how old or young you are either; the whole idea is about participation,” Jonathan said.
“The first 100 to register will receive a special event swim cap.”
