Heart start for Woodbridge

A free community Automated External Defibrillator (AED) was officially installed outside Woodbridge Post Office last week thanks to the efforts of the Woodbridge Hall Committee (WHC).
WHC member Pam Nossiter said they applied for a defibrillator through the Tasmanian Government’s Community Defibrillator Fund in January.
90 AEDs are being delivered across the state in the latest round of this fund.
WHC decided against installing the defibrillator outside Woodbridge Community Hall where they meet, opting for the post office instead.
“Everyone goes to the post office,” Pam said, explaining that this is a familiar landmark for the community, making the defibrillator more accessible.
The post office also has CCTV, making this a secure location.
The WHC will host an information session on how to use a defibrillator in the near future, on a date to be determined.
