Kettering footy 60-year reunion

Kettering Football Club recently held a 60-year reunion at The Oyster Cove Inn to celebrate their 1964 premiership win.
Once the youngest player on the seniors' team, Ian King reflected on the club's legacy.
Ian said the football club dates back to at least 1914, with their first premiership in 1947.
Descendants from that side then played in the 1964 premiership with players from Oyster Cove and Bruny Island making up the team.
Before the 1967 Black Tuesday bushfires the club's home ground was located on Saddle Road where the fire brigade shed now stands.
"Our 50-year reunion in 2014 saw 17 of the original players at the event, but sadly 10 years later only seven survive," Ian said.

These seven included Kevin Palmer and Greame Martin, who travelled down from the Eastern Shore with their wives Valerie and Jenny.
They were joined by the oldest surviving member Roland Proctor, aged 85, who came from Snug with wife Elaine.
Doug Wisby and wife Barbara came from Oyster Cove whilst Billy Proctor, Lin Thomson, Ian and wife Kay all reside in Kettering.
"After a generous meal the conversations turned to what next and when," Ian said.
"To the laughter of everyone one suggested we had better move it to every year.
"Stories funny and sad were keenly listened to by the younger kin at the reunion.
"We thank our wives who made the afternoon a great success."
