More than 200 guests packed into the Senior Citizens Club on Redwood Road, Kingston, for Edna’s Annual Christmas Fundraiser on Sunday, November 16.
This is a long-running Kingborough Helping Hands (KHH) tradition that raises valuable funds towards Christmas programs, including hampers and toy assistance for families and individuals facing hardship during the holiday season.
The tables overflowed with donated items for raffles and an auction, and strong bidding and brisk ticket sales helped support KHH’s vital initiatives.
“Events like this remind us what can be achieved when people come together to help others,” founder and KHH President Edna Pennicott said.
“The generosity on display ensures we can support those who need a little extra help at Christmas.”
A dedicated team of volunteers worked tirelessly behind the scenes and on the floor, ensuring everything ran smoothly with delicious Christmas fare, lively conversation and plenty of laughter.
Local entertainers The Croons performed throughout the afternoon, adding their signature warmth and harmony.
KHH continued the Christmas fundraising efforts by opening the Sharing Tree at Channel Court Shopping Centre last week on Wednesday, November 26.
Located outside Woolworths, the Sharing Tree will receive gifts and vouchers for those in need until Sunday, December 21.
This is the ninth year in a row the Sharing Tree has been installed here.
