Lantern making time at West Winds

Lantern making time at West Winds

Lantern making was in full swing at workshops hosted by the West Wind Community Centre in Snug, Middleton and Woodbridge on Saturday, June 12 and Sunday, June 13, ahead of the popular annual lantern walk.

Lantern artist, Ayelet, explained the lantern making process to eager workshop participants of all ages.

A range of large geometric shapes were created from bamboo sticks, twine and tape and then covered in colourful wrapping.

Children proudly displayed their delightful lantern creations at the end of the session.

The lantern parade is scheduled for Saturday, July 24, and volunteers are welcome to join a working group for this year’s event.
