Santa visits Snug early

Santa visits Snug early

Santa and his helpers made an unscheduled, early visit to Snug last week.

Due to Tasmanian Fire Service restrictions and operational guidelines, Snug Fire Brigade’s annual Santa run and lolly drop was magically rescheduled from Saturday, December 18 to Tuesday, December 14.
In a Facebook post on Tuesday, December 14, the Snug Fire Brigade initially announced changes to the jolly event.
“Due to the borders opening, there are new internal restrictions in place to protect fire service personnel and the community which we must adhere to,” stated Snug Fire Brigade’s initial post.
A few hours later, a surprise second post was made announcing the Christmas party was, instead, visiting Snug that very same Tuesday, December 14 from 7pm.
Members of the Snug Fire Brigade had been initially devastated that their community would be let down by the cancellation of the much-loved event, making Santa’s prompt rescheduling an imperative.
Santa, his helpers and the Snug Fire Brigade fire truck visited Electrona, Snug and Coningham with their sirens turned on, meeting families at the top of their driveways and gifting children lollies.
