StoryWalk captures locals imaginations

StoryWalk captures locals imaginations

Families of all shapes and sizes gathered to celebrate the launching of a new StoryWalk at Dru Point in Margate.

The featured book 'Travelling Tasmanian Tigers' is an all-ages tale told via ten interactive and fun panels placed along the meandering walkway, celebrating special places and native animals around our beautiful island state lutruwita/Tasmania.

Hosted a Kingston Library and created by local author/artist Margie Kirk, the new StoryWalk is in fact the third book to be placed here.

The first two books were imagined by another talented author/artist Sonia Strong, 'Tazzie the Turbo Chook' and 'The Boobook Nook' will be placed in other picturesque locations around Kingborough.

The launch of the new StoryWalk addition was made possible by a varied consort of contributors including Friends of the Library Kingston, Kingborough Council with a Community Grant, Allyson Ekin, Kingborough and Huon Buisiness Enterprise Centre and The Channel Mens Shed.

To keep an ear out for the next StoryWalk adventure be sure to follow Kingston Library on your socials or pop on down to speak to one of their friendly staff.
