Charity project completed in Kingston

The Madison House charity project built in Kingston was officially completed last week.
"The Madison House project has delivered a wonderful, purpose-built, three-bedroom home for a family with significant disability requirements because of the tremendous goodwill of so many Tasmanian businesses," Minister for Housing Guy Barnett said.
"I sincerely thank Andrew Lyden and his team at Lyden Builders for their initiative and dedication to making a lasting difference to the lives of so many Tasmanian children.
"I'd also like to give a very special thanks to the 60 subcontractors and suppliers who donated labour, materials or their time and skills to build this home."
The Madison House charity project was built in memory of Madison Lyden, the daughter of Lyden Builders owner Andrew Lyden, who died in a tragic cycling incident in New York in 2018.
Lyden Builders are donating the profits from the build, estimated to be around $550,000, to Variety Tasmania.
"Madison House is a tangible way that leaders in our community are helping others," Minister Barnett said.
"This will make a massive difference for a family with significant disability who now has a home suited to their specific needs.
"It will also make a difference to thousands of Tasmanian children who will benefit from the work of Variety, the Children's Charity of Tasmania."
