Assisting drought relief

Channel Men’s Shed President, Peter Norris, presented Lions Club of Kingborough President, David Mills with a cheque for $1000 to go towards the Lions National Drought Appeal.

The Men’s Shed chose the Lions Club as a conduit for their donation in the knowledge that Lions do not deduct administration charges and every dollar donated will go to the farmers in need.

Both the Men’s Shed State Body and the Kingston Men’s Shed have also donated  funds towards the Lions National Drought Appeal, which  has so far  this year dispersed close to one million dollars in cash and commodities to farmers in the drought affected areas, and that more than $30,000 of this amount has come from Tasmania, which just highlights the generosity of the Tasmanian people.
