Blackmans Bay rolls out Wellbeing Wagon

Blackmans Bay Primary School (BBPS) decided to create a Wellbeing Wagon, inspired by a story shared to ABC Australia about a teacher from the Sunshine Coast.
Sarah Tyler came up with a Wellbeing Wagon, which is filled up with board games and other activities, to wheel around during break times for children wanting quiet play time.
BBPS launched their own Wellbeing Wagon on Monday, June 17 with help from the Student Representative Council (SRC) and support teachers Renee and Amber.
Renee researched the potential costs for this project and BBPS used some of their student support school budget to furnish the wagon with a range of games, colouring in activities and a picnic rug to encourage students to come together.
The SRC volunteered to support this project, encouraging fellow students to join in.
Principal Ashley McPherson said they will replenish and introduce new items to the Wellbeing Wagon over time.
