Channel lights up winter night

Channel Christian School’s Lantern Festival, an event that has been held annually since 2009, lit up the night once more with the students’ homemade lanterns.
Staff, students and family members gathered in the Arts Recreation Community (ARC) Centre for a dramatic rendition of The Gruffalo.
Past parent Maja Conry, who was also part of Channel’s founding committee 16 years ago, skilfully shared this story through the use of puppetry.
Afterwards everyone warmed up with pots of steaming soup and stews prepared by volunteers from the school community.
“We would like to give a very big thank you to the Community Engagement Committee who diligently organised this heartwarming event,” the school said.
“Due to their hard work and dedication, our school community was able to come together to celebrate the winter solstice with activities that brought hope and light to the darkness.”
